Lamentations

I was looking forward to my leisure—

Now, feels as though I’m about to seizure:

Cuomo says no spring break!

How much more can we take?

Hope’s nothing but a rotten teaser…

I was very eager for this break,

But for students’ and parents’ best sake

And for the greater good,

I must do what I could

Like a good citizen and true fake.

Keep your chin up and a stiff upper lip;

When Hope disappoints, take a great big sip

From your store of Wisdom

To face all that will come;

But, when Anger festers, let your wrath rip!
