We welcomed class of 2020 in grief,
In wake of the 9/11 heartbreak;
Now you greet adulthood with no relief,
Facing the Corona virus outbreak.
How much more cruelty can you partake?
Will you continue to face a world unkind?
How many more milestones will you forsake?
Will you question the good in humankind?
Thoughtfully, I plan, keeping you in mind
To uplift your spirit, even a while,
In a creative medium to unwind,
To bring to your faces a bright, broad smile.
They say the road is long, the mile is wide,
But you have me, Tenacity, on your side.
