If not for you, I would cease and desist,
Because superiors don’t strike iron
While it’s hot, lacking ideas to transform,
Satiating in plans that we resist.
If not for you, I would simply subsist,
Wait for the dust to settle from the storm,
Wait for the time to return to its norm,
But, for you, I continue to persist.
Now, you’re my pride, joy, and priority,
I offer to you what you require,
For you direct my heart, fervent fire,
Which should pervade a firm community,
Which should embody those who inspire—
For you, the fervor will not expire.
