In truth, I’m on vacation and should be relaxing, but since I am my mother’s child, I cannot have idle hands and must be up to something all the time. I just finished a market, a special order for a college friend, a little part time summer work, and now I have some leisure time. Of course, I have had lofty plans for the summer: reading for pleasure and for work, sewing projects for the store and myself, family plans, vacation plans, and I’m sure the agenda will grow. Now, what should I do first?
I could finish the many retro slings I prepped but didn’t interface, so those will take time and entail a methodical approach. I could whip up some travel organizers and wallets that I have prepped and interfaced; these would be quick and easy. I could experiment with one of my new templates, like the Kaede Bum Bag, a project I’ve been anxiously waiting to test. I also want to make myself a By Annie backpack. Before my fickle mind wonders onto new projects, I must finish the ones I prepped, and I’ve love to scrap bust my leftover fabrics into small projects or, or nice quilts, or large patchwork pieces for other projects.
On the other hand, I could listen to the Malcolm Gladwell and Obama’s Audible podcast, read Arundhati Roy’s memoir, study for my upcoming professional development, or even continue planning for next school year. Yes, I’ve started planning, completing three of over forty lessons I have to execute by April. The school work, though necessary, definitely won’t be as much fun as listening to the podcast or Roy read her memoir while sewing. I have five days before my class begins, and I’m definitely going to make the most of those five days!
