A synergy of education and inspiration!

When one door closes, another opens…

This blog started as a place to keep students abreast of assignments, and during the pandemic, it slowly became outmoded when schools shifted to online platforms enabling students to have more streamlined access to class work and other resources.

Since the pandemic, I’ve changed schools from an art school I loved to a CTE school I also enjoy, but especially love what I teach and the close proximity of the school to my home.

Early in my teaching career, I used to wonder what I would fall back on as a second career, and I used to believe I would write or teach at the college level, but the pandemic brought me to what I believe is my new passion and avocation: sewing.

Most people got married, had babies or adopted pets, I picked up a pandemic pastime. I wanted to learn how to quilt, so I started with a $103 Brother sewing machine, practiced by making masks for myself, friends, and family. Țhen, when I I felt comfortable with my sewing machine, I started with log cabin quilts.

I enjoy quilting, but soon realized that it is an expensive hobby. I advanced to bag making, which I think is now my new niche. This will be my new venture when as I approach retirement, and I hope this side hustle can become a thriving business.
